If you are a tradesman applying for a skilled visa to migrate to Australia, you must have your skills assessed.
For a successful assessment through Trades Recognition Australia, you need to have completed a NVQ Level 3 at College and have a further 3 years of post-qualification work experience. Unfortunately, if your qualification was assessed on-site or you have no qualification at all, your skills assessment will be unsuccessful.
Alternatively, if you have a minimum of 6 years full time paid employment in your skilled trade, we can arrange for you to be assessed through Recognition of Prior Leaning with Building Trades Australia. The Building Trades Australia assessment fee is A$2,400.00.
Most applicants fall into one of these two categories:
- Those with a qualification, such as an NVQ or SVQ or
- Those who have no formal qualification but have been working within their chosen skills industry for a considerable length of time.
Both pathways are acceptable as a means of achieving a positive skills assessment for migration purposes. To ensure you choose the right pathway and to confirm that your qualifications and experience meet with the stringent Australian skills assessment standards, it is advisable to speak with a Registered Migration Agent.
