The Dairy Industry Labour Agreement
The dairy industry is facing ongoing labour shortages across Australia. In response, The Australian Government has created the Dairy Industry Labour Agreement.
This agreement allows farmers to employ overseas workers under two occupations.
Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186) after a 3-year transition period

The worker’s visa can last up to 4 years, with the possibility of extension.
The process of hiring overseas workers
Hiring international talent can be time consuming and costly for the employer. The process can be broken down into 3 steps.
Farm applies to be approved under the Labour Agreement – You must submit an application to the department, evidencing why you need to hire someone from overseas. It’s free to apply for a labour agreement, which lasts 5 years.

The employee must also have relevant qualifications or a minimum of 2-3 years work experience in the occupation you’re nominating. Full details can be found on the department website.
Apply for the employee’s visa – lodge a visa application through IMMI Account. The worker can include their spouse and dependent children on this visa.

Maintenance Electricians earn between $80,000-$110, 000 AUD per year. In Western Australia, electricians can expect to earn $100, 000-$120, 000 AUD. This is the equivalent of around £69, 000 GBP.

The potential to work in Australia and comfortably earn $100, 000 is a great incentive to move to Australia as an electrician.

The country’s low uptake of vocational training has created a shortage of traditional trades, such as electricians. According to National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), Electricians are among the most in-demand tradespeople in Australia. You will not struggle to find electrical jobs in Australia.
Electrician is in the top 5 jobs employers need filling across key industries (Hays Australia Salary Guide 2022-2023). This includes electrical jobs in mining, manufacturing, and operating industries.
So if you’re an electrician moving to Australia, there will be a job opportunity nearby.

If you’re considering a move to Australia, then it’s probably in search of a better life. In Australia you can expect an outdoor lifestyle with lots of sunshine. In summer it’s common for tradesmen working outdoors to start their day early to avoid the midday heat.
With an abundance of land, Australian houses are some of the biggest in the world. If you’re moving to Australia this can be a massive advantage. Imagine more living and outdoor space to raise a family!
Are you ready to move to Australia? There may be several visa options available to you, so it’s best to speak with a Migration Agent to find out what’s best suited.

Does simply having family in Australia make you eligible for a visa? At Visa Go Australia we’re often asked about family sponsored visas. After all, Australia is a migrant nation and every knows someone who lives there.
So, can family sponsor me to live in Australia? I talked to Migration Agent Darren Chatt to find the answer.
Family Living In Australia
Australia is a multicultural nation, with 30% of its population born overseas. In 2020, more than 7.6 million people living in Australia were born overseas. (ABS 2021). Therefore, it’s no surprise that many wannabe migrants have family living in Australia.
The 491 visa allows applicants up to 5 years of living and working in regional Australia. Moreover, this visa type provides a pathway to permanent residency.
If you wish to live and work in Australia, then you can use an eligible family member to sponsor you.
A family member can provide sponsorship under the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491). This means you must first be eligible for a skilled visa; simply having a family member in Australia does not make you eligible for a visa.
Australia’s skilled visas are based around an occupation list and points system. These visas are designed to attract young skilled workers into the country. The basic criteria for a skilled visa can be seen on our dedicated webpage. You can calculate your skilled visa points and determine if you require sponsorship here.
As an applicant you must meet the skilled visa criteria. Additionally, you must nominate an occupation on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List).
491 Family Sponsored Visa Process
To apply for a skilled visa, you must first secure a positive skills assessment and English Test. Following this, applicants should lodge an EOI (Expression of Interest) to register their interest in emigrating to Australia. It is at this stage you will nominate a family member to sponsor you.
If your EOI is successful, you will be invited to apply for a skilled visa and given 60 days to lodge. Lodging an EOI does not guarantee a skilled visa, and if uninvited will expire after two years. Medical and character checks are completed and uploaded following visa lodgement.
Benefits of family sponsorship
If you are eligible for a skilled visa, you can use family sponsorship to gain an extra 15 points towards your application. Generally, the more points the better for skilled visas as competition is high. Using a family member to sponsor you may be the difference in securing a skilled visa and not.
Secondly, family sponsored visas are subject to regular invitation rounds via SkillSelect. This is beneficial because it’s easier to predict when you may receive an invitation. In comparison, state sponsorship visas (subclass 190 and 491) are invited sporadically depending on state demand.
Finally, SkillSelect publish invitation round results so you can see how many points are realistically required. For example, at the time of writing the last invitation issued was to an application lodged in January 2022 with 80 points.
If you want to live in Australia, then a family sponsored skilled visa could be for you. You can complete our free visa assessment to discover your points and visa options. Moreover, you can book a visa consultation with our Migration Agent for just £60.

Heatseal need glaziers and window installers, and are offering employer sponsorship. At Visa Go Australia, we are working with Heatseal to find overseas skilled workers to join their company. Once we find suitable workers, we can process their employer sponsored visa.
This is an exciting opportunity to live and work in Western Australia! If you have experience as a glazier, contact us today!
Benefits of Employer Sponsored Visa
Australia’s employer sponsored visa allows you to live and work in Australia for up to 4 years.
Heatseal is offering sponsorship under the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (subclass 482). On this visa you can include family, such as a spouse and children. There may also be pathways to permanent residency.
Heatseal boss Paul and new employee James
There are many benefits in applying for a Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa. Firstly, this visa has short processing times. TSS visas are currently taking around 2-3 months to process. Moreover, Heatseal are already approved as a business sponsor which makes the process even quicker.
Secondly, this employer sponsored TTS visa is considerably cheaper than skilled visas. Some employers may even offer relocation packages and monetary incentives.
Another benefit of securing employer sponsorship is you have a job in Australia when you arrive. This job security offers new migrants peace of mind.
A Success Story
We’ve already helped one family secure a TSS visa and begin working at Heatseal.
Originally from Plymouth, James and wife Kerry moved with their three children. Kerry explains how her family is thriving in Western Australia.
“We have been in Western Australia for 5 months now and feel settled into our new lives. Our 3 children started school almost immediately, and all have made a good group of friends and have even socialised outside of school. They manage schoolwork comfortably and enjoy the trips to the beach at the end of the day.”
To start the visa process, we first set up Heatseal as an approved business sponsor. We then worked with James to lodge his TSS visa. His wife Kerry explains her experience of moving to Australia on an employer sponsored visa.
“The visa process was made much easier with the help and support from both Paul at Heatseal and Darren from Visa Go Australia. It took the pressure off us knowing that it was being dealt with by a professional, and allowed us to ask questions we were usure of. During the pandemic this really eased the stress.
The family from Plymouth are settling into WA life and loving the beautiful beaches
We would recommend an employer sponsorship visa 100%. It has given us an opportunity to provide a better life for our children and enjoy a freer lifestyle in the sun. It has given us security knowing that James had a job waiting to start on arrival and financially this put our minds at rest.”
Employer sponsorship gave James and his family the opportunity to live and work in Australia. Heatseal is still offering sponsorship and have multiple job opportunities.
So if you’re interested in employer sponsorship, we have the Australian employers and migration agent to help you!

Moving to another country can be daunting for any adult, but let’s not forget about the children. For them, the idea of starting anew can seem scary! At Visa Go Australia we’ve helped many families move to Australia. Moreover, our Migration Agent has also emigrated with young children. Below, we look at helping your child make the move to Australia.
Helping your child make the move to Australia
As a parent, you will need to find some time, (in between everything else that the move throws at you!), to focus on assisting your children with settling in to their new surroundings. It can be quite an upheaval for any child, from toddler to teenager, and the demands on your support mechanisms may be tested. Rest assured though, that children and very resilient, and it shouldn’t take long for them to make new friends and find new interests.
Australia boasts a friendly and inclusive environment for children, and younger children settle in very quickly. They are quick to move on to new friendships and are keen to be involved in new adventures. Early years and primary school classes offer a bounty of new friendships, as do local activity groups and playgrounds. Get involved. Be open to change. Embrace the positives.
A starting point
Some tips on helping your child make the move to Australia:
Check out your local Library. These offer a mountain of information about what is going on in your local area. Playgroups, art and craft classes, activity groups, Guides and Scouts, seasonal activities and celebrations – the list is endless. The librarian will have information and contact details for most things.
Arrange a visit to your nearest playgroup and to any of the other groups your child may be interested in. If they are already involved in Brownies, Guides, Cubs or Scouts, arrange for them to visit their local group. This way they will be meeting local children who share similar interests. They could bring their own uniform and achievement badges, as points of interest.
Consider joining a sports team. Australia is a sporting nation. In 2017, 3.5 million children (74%) participated at least once in some form of organised sport or physical activity outside of school hours over the past 12 months. (AusSport 2018)
Young teenagers
Finding mates when they’re at school will all depend upon how sociable your child is. Encouraging them to join sporting and social clubs is the first positive step. The school will have their own sports teams and special interest clubs, and they will be able to advise your child of other options outside of the school.
Encourage your child to invite some of their new classmates around. This is a good way for you to meet them and get to know about their own family.
Create regular activity patterns for the weekend. An afternoon movie, trip to the beach or swimming pool, a local sporting fixture – anything that involved them meeting up with friends and participating in wholesome socialising.
Older teens
This is the tough crowd, with strong friendships already established and maybe even love interests. Getting them on board with the move can be a momentous task in itself.
Thankfully, social media enables them to keep in close contact with their mates, and even facilitate them meeting their new friends.
Encourage outdoor social activities and sports. The beach is always a popular place for older teenagers to meet, as are sporting events and concerts. Alternatively, there are hiking and camping, caving and extreme activities. Here they will meet like-minded people.
A weekend and/or holiday job is another great opportunity for your teenager to meet new people and make friends. The added benefit is that they will appreciate the value of earning their own spending money!
Enjoy family time doing things that your older children appreciate. They need to feel important and often take more support than their younger siblings.
If you are a regular church goer, local churches in your area are a good source of friendship and support, for you and your children. Many have Sunday School and family services, as well as holiday activities to keep children active and supported if parents are working or simply need a break.

Are you interested in migrating to Australia as a chef? Because now may be the perfect time! Learn about Chef skills assessment Australia. Australia’s hospitality industry has critical skills shortages, with chefs and cooks in high demand. Moreover, there are skilled visa pathways for chefs in many Australian states. Below, we explain the skilled visa process for a chef.
Chef Skills Assessment Australia
To emigrate to Australia as a chef, you must first complete a skills assessment. All skilled visa applicants must have their skills assessed to ensure they match Australian standards.
A chef skills assessment for Australia is completed with VETASSESS.
The assessment consists of two parts.
Document review – submitting evidence of training, paid employment and detailed references
Technical interview – an interview completed online with an Australian assessor
For more information you can visit our dedicated webpage for chef skills assessment Australia. Moreover, you can download the VETASSESS Factsheet and learn more about the job description on ANZSCO.
Top tip: It is important to determine whether you should apply as a chef or a cook. While both occupations have overlapping tasks, there are some key differences. Consequently, VETASSESS will look at employment references for managerial tasks to qualify as a chef.
EOI for Chefs
Following a positive skills assessment, applicants must lodge an EOI (Expression of Interest). An EOI is an online application which registers your interest in migrating to Australia.
It’s at this stage where applicants should select which visa subclass and state to apply to. The visa category applied under will be determined by your points score and available sponsoring states. You can calculate your points score using our free assessment.
Once submitted, your EOI will generate your points score. Generally, the more points the better. Consequently, we recommend completing an English Language test to increase your overall points. A recognised test can award you up to 20 extra points.
Additionally, some states require an ROI (Registration of Interest), which is separate from the EOI. Submitting an EOI and ROI does not guarantee an invitation to apply for a skilled visa. It can be helpful seeking advice from an experienced migration agent. A good migration agent will advise you on your chances of securing a skilled visa, and outline any risks involved. Our migration agent offers visa consultations for just £60.
State Sponsorship for Chefs
Chef is on the MLTSSL. This means applicants can apply independently (subclass 189) or through state sponsorship (subclasses 190 and 491). Some applicants may also be eligible for family sponsorship under subclass 491. This depends on where your family member lives, and how closely related they are. Find out more on our website.
In our experience, most applicants will require state or family sponsorship to secure a skilled visa. This is because the extra points gained from sponsorship helps secure an invitation to apply for a skilled visa.
Visa subclasses 189 and 190 are permanent residency visas, whereas the 491 is a temporary visa with a pathway to permanent residency. You can learn more on our skilled visa page, or by completing our free online visa assessment. All our visa assessments are reviewed by our migration agent for free.
Most states are offering sponsorship to chefs, however each state set their own criteria. For example, South Australia and Western Australia only sponsor chefs currently living and working in their state (at the time of writing). Others require job offers, minimum work experience and other specifications. You can check State Government websites for full eligibility details, or book a consultation with our migration agent

The partner visa is one of Australia’s most expensive visas. Currently, the visa application charge starts at $7850.00 AU. The large cost and lengthy process adds pressure to submit a complete and correct application. Moreover, a visa refusal may prevent you from applying in the future. Below, we outline some common reasons why an application could be refused.
Insufficient supporting documents
The most common reason for the refusal of partner visas is a lack of relationship evidence. To be eligible for a partner visa, you must be in a committed and genuine relationship with an Australian.
As part of the visa application, you must upload documents to prove your relationship. The evidence can be split into four primary categories:
Nature of commitment
Nature of household
Financial commitment
Social aspects
Failure to provide evidence from each category can result in a visa refusal. For example, solely uploading social media and photos to a visa application is not enough to prove a relationship for visa purposes. Therefore it is important to provide a varied selection of relationship evidence.
Inconsistency in your visa application
When completing the online application, you will be asked about specific dates and milestones in your relationship. For example, the date you met and the date you committed to an exclusive relationship. If your supporting documents and relationship statement prove different dates then this will raise alarm for the case officer assessing your visa. A good Migration Agent will check and compare all documents and information provided before lodging your visa. Get a free quote today.
Falsified documents
Providing fraudulent documents and false statutory declarations is reason for a visa refusal. Consequently, you should ensure all documents are provided in English and are genuine. Moreover, when completing your visa application, you should ensure there is no incorrect information provided. It is your responsibility to ensure all information provided is true.
Character issues
Both the applicant and the sponsor’s character will be assessed. The applicant will need to disclose any criminal cautions and convictions in the visa application. Additionally, a police check for each country lived in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years will be required.
Substantial criminal records will delay and sometimes prevent a partner visa being finalised
The sponsor must also disclose any criminal issues and provide police checks. Moreover, the applicant will be made aware of any police records the sponsor may have.
Lastly, Immigration will check the sponsor’s Australian residency status, and if they have previously sponsored another partner to emigrate to Australia. There are limits to the number of partners an Australian can sponsor.
If you are concerned about a partner visa refusal, our Migration Agent offers affordable visa consultations. Alternatively, you can seek free advice via our online assessment.

Can family sponsor me to live in Australia?
Australia, News, Skilled Visa, VisaDoes simply having family in Australia make you eligible for a visa? At Visa Go Australia we’re often asked about family sponsored visas. After all, Australia is a migrant nation and every knows someone who lives there.
So, can family sponsor me to live in Australia? I talked to Migration Agent Darren Chatt to find the answer.
Family Living In Australia
Australia is a multicultural nation, with 30% of its population born overseas. In 2020, more than 7.6 million people living in Australia were born overseas. (ABS 2021). Therefore, it’s no surprise that many wannabe migrants have family living in Australia.
Depending on your intentions, the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491) may be suitable. This skilled visa allows family to sponsor your application.
The 491 visa allows applicants up to 5 years of living and working in regional Australia. Moreover, this visa type provides a pathway to permanent residency.

Can Family Sponsor Me To Live In Australia?
Family Sponsor Criteria
As a sponsor you must be:

Helping your child make the move to Australia
Australia, Lifestyle, NewsMoving to another country can be daunting for any adult, but let’s not forget about the children.
Young teenagers
Finding mates when they’re at school will all depend upon how sociable your child is. Encouraging them to join sporting and social clubs is the first positive step. The school will have their own sports teams and special interest clubs, and they will be able to advise your child of other options outside of the school.
Older teens
This is the tough crowd, with strong friendships already established and maybe even love interests. Getting them on board with the move can be a momentous task in itself.
Thankfully, social media enables them to keep in close contact with their mates, and even facilitate them meeting their new friends.
If you are a regular church goer, local churches in your area are a good source of friendship and support, for you and your children. Many have Sunday School and family services, as well as holiday activities to keep children active and supported if parents are working or simply need a break.

Chef Skills Assessment Australia
Australia, Chef, Skilled VisaAre you interested in migrating to Australia as a chef?
Partner Visa Refusal Australia
Australia, News, Partner VisaReasons for partner visa refusal Australia
The partner visa is one of Australia’s most expensive visas. Currently, the visa application charge starts at $7850.00 AU. The large cost and lengthy process adds pressure to submit a complete and correct application. Moreover, a visa refusal may prevent you from applying in the future. Below, we outline some common reasons why an application could be refused.
Insufficient supporting documents
The most common reason for the refusal of partner visas is a lack of relationship evidence. To be eligible for a partner visa, you must be in a committed and genuine relationship with an Australian.
Check out our free partner visa assessment
As part of the visa application, you must upload documents to prove your relationship. The evidence can be split into four primary categories:
